Just in case you haven’t had enough mass Twitter & Facebook activity on what the Cambridge Volcanologists are doing in Iceland here’s the latest news, as they return to Cambridge.

From professor Bob White:

“All ten of us left the exclusion area late last night. We are all well and the seismometer array even better. We have 75 broad band seismometers operating now including 4 on the glacier above the dyke and a close array of 10 near the fissure eruption. Dyke is now 45 km long. Had to remove one seismometer yesterday which was only 30 metres from the advancing lava and will redeploy it elsewhere. Now servicing stations around the ice cap. We will miss the daily pyrotechnics but are glad to have a shower and some sleep.”
